The Factory

The production process is fully vertically integrated, encompassing every stage of textile and clothing manufacturing, including yarn spinning, fabric knitting, fabric dyeing, cutting, garment assembly, and finishing. By overseeing each of these operations, Vic Bay is able to maintain control over essential factors such as product quality and availability.

We source our cotton from various countries in the Southern African Development Community (SADC

  1. Our spinning mill operates 24/7, producing cotton yarn in a variety of tex counts. We ensure the highest quality by subjecting our 100% cotton yarn to rigorous testing, resulting in premium open-end yarn.
  2. We knit select T-shirts in a body-size tubular form, creating seamless garments. We also produce wide-width fabric for our products and custom orders. The spun yarn is fed into knitting machines, which transform it into fabric. Tubular fabric eliminates the need for cutting, stitching, or joining the main body of the garment.
  3. In our dye house and finishing plant, fabric is dyed to meet international color fastness and performance standards, ensuring its stability. Using advanced dyeing technology, the fabric is rotated through the dyeing process, conditioned with a softener, and processed through a calendar machine to achieve the desired width before drying.
  4. Our cutting process is powered by state-of-the-art Bierrebi automatic machines, delivering fast and precise garment cuts. This highly advanced automated system maximizes precision and productivity while minimizing fabric waste, resulting in cost efficiency.
  5. In our garment assembly factories, qualified machinists sew the cut panels together to create a variety of t-shirts, polos, and sweatshirts, with a strong focus on quality control. Our assembly operations in Lesotho adhere to international garment production standards.
